Rays of Glory

I had my Canon 300mm f/2.8L on awaiting an indoor football game in Madison Wisconsin and walked outside to get fresh air. I looked up and saw the shot! So I grabbed the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L out of the carrying pouch on my waist and put it on my 50D and took this picture.

I would preferred to see a little bit more of that tree. The format it's attractive.
I wonder why you have used a f/18. Too closed diafragm. I would used a f/8.
